Editorial Policy
Plexn publishes home-project quantity calculators and measurement guides. We explain what each model calculates and what still needs checking before ordering material.
Defined methods
Paint estimates use a rectangular room’s perimeter, wall height, coat count and coverage per gallon, before subtracting openings or rounding to can sizes. Flooring estimates use area, an entered waste allowance and coverage per box, with whole-box rounding. Concrete and mulch estimates convert depth in inches to feet and report rectangular volume in cubic feet and cubic yards.
Sources and examples
Use the selected product’s coverage, package yield and instructions for an actual purchase. A project’s specification and supplier ordering units can require adjustments that a geometric model does not include. Defaults demonstrate arithmetic; they are not universal application rates, waste allowances or design recommendations. A reference link does not imply its publisher endorses Plexn.
Drafting and verification
Initial text used AI assistance. Worked examples are checked against actual calculator output, including unit conversions, zero quantities and invalid divisors where relevant. Correct arithmetic cannot verify that measurements are complete or that a chosen depth suits a project. Guides distinguish measured geometry, allowances and packaging rounding.
Corrections and updates
Report an issue through the contact page with its URL, input values and expected result. Formula, unit and example changes should be checked across related pages. Review dates should reflect substantive review rather than automatic freshness claims. We do not claim continuous monitoring of product specifications or prices.
Advertising
Advertisements, when present, are separate from explanatory content and calculator controls. An ad is not a Plexn recommendation. Sponsored or affiliate relationships should be disclosed on the affected page and must not alter the arithmetic or imply an independent product test.
